A potato storage crate, also known as a bulk potato bin, is a large container designed for storing and transporting potatoes and other bulk agricultural produce. Our crates are new East German XXL steel bins, also known as DDR crates, painted in RAL 7035 grey. With a capacity of approximately 2.3 m³, they offer considerably more storage space than a standard one-cubic-metre bin.

The walls are made from steel mesh with 25 x 50 mm openings, while the base has 25 x 25 mm mesh. This open construction allows air to reach the stored produce. Every crate is suitable for food products.

All three versions have the same specifications. The external dimensions are 1120 x 2240 x 1110 mm, and the internal dimensions are 1100 x 2220 x 935 mm. Each crate holds approximately 2.3 m³, has a load capacity of 1,500 kg and can be stacked.

We only sell steel potato crates, not wooden ones. All our current models are new, and we do not offer rental services.

Since all three versions have identical dimensions and load capacities, the main difference is how you access and unload the contents.

• The tilting version without doors or flaps is emptied by tipping the crate. This is the most economical option and suits businesses that discharge their entire harvest in one operation.
• The version with one drop-down flap on the long side allows you to remove produce without moving the crate. This is useful when you need access to part of the contents while keeping the rest in storage.
• The version with two doors provides access even when the crates are stacked. This makes it practical in a full storage building where you regularly need to remove smaller quantities.

For smaller batches or different products stored separately, a smaller container may be more practical. A steel pallet cage holds 750 litres and supports 1,000 kg. A plastic pallet box is available with solid or perforated walls.

When you order on a working day before 5 pm Dutch time, we dispatch in-stock potato crates the following day. Shipping costs are calculated per pallet space. Two crates can be transported for the same rate because they can be stacked. We deliver to 13 European countries, including the UK and Ireland. All prices exclude VAT.
