Buy steel stacking bins for heavy material handling

A steel stacking bin, also known as a metal stacking container or steel pallet bin, is a solid-sided steel container with a profiled steel base for storing and moving heavy materials. Our steel stacking bins are new and hot-dip galvanised, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor use. They can be stacked and have lifting eyes for crane handling.

There are four sizes to choose from. The smallest has a lower load capacity, so check the dimensions and weights carefully.

  • The S size measures 800 x 530 x 600 mm externally and 750 x 470 x 430 mm internally. It carries 700 kg and weighs 35 kg empty.
  • The M size has a footprint of 1000 x 800 mm, an internal height of 500 mm, a load capacity of 2,000 kg and an empty weight of 53.5 kg.
  • The L size measures 1200 x 800 mm, matching the footprint of a Euro pallet. It has an internal height of 500 mm and carries 2,000 kg.
  • The XL size measures 1200 x 1000 mm, matching an industrial pallet footprint, with an internal height of 500 mm. It carries 2,000 kg and weighs 68.5 kg empty.

Choose the right access to your materials

The main difference between the available designs is how you access the contents. An open steel stacking bin with lifting eyes is loaded and unloaded from above. This is the simplest and most affordable option when you can access the bin from the top.

A version with one drop-down flap on the long side lets you remove materials while the bins remain stacked. This is useful when you need access to components without moving the containers above them.

For tools or materials you want to secure, choose a bin with a drop-down flap and a lockable lid. This version also includes an anti-theft flap. A padlock is not included, so you will need to provide your own.

Not every size and design combination is always in stock. Check the available options before ordering.

Use a warehouse bin for smaller components

For small parts, fasteners and tools, we also offer a Lagerfix warehouse bin measuring 500 x 310 x 200 mm. It is made from steel, painted green, stackable and in as-new condition.

Up to 60 of these bins can be shipped for the same transport rate. This makes them a cost-effective choice when equipping an entire storage rack with containers for smaller items.

If you need to see the contents through the sides, a steel pallet cage with mesh walls may be more practical. For food products, choose a plastic pallet box. Long pipes and profiles are better stored on stacking racks.

Ordering and shipping

Order an in-stock steel stacking bin on a working day before 5 pm Dutch time and we will dispatch it the following day. We deliver to 13 European countries, including the UK and Ireland. All prices exclude VAT.

Shipping costs are calculated per pallet space. Four bins in sizes M, L and XL can be shipped at the same rate, while eight S-size bins fit within one transport rate. Combining several units in one order can reduce your shipping cost per bin.
