Collection: Danish trolleys

A Danish trolley, also known as a Danish plant trolley or flower trolley, is a mobile transport cart with a base, four uprights and adjustable shelves. Originally developed for horticulture, it is also used in logistics, retail and warehouses. Every Danish trolley at Leka Trading is new, heavy-duty and fully hot-dip galvanised. The external dimensions are 1350 x 570 mm, with internal dimensions of 1270 x 550 mm. The uprights are 1800 mm high and each shelf measures 1275 x 565 mm.

A trolley with standard wheels and no additional shelves is the most economical starting point. Rubber wheels, a wire mesh base or extra shelves increase the price. You can compare prices for each configuration in the product overview. We sell trolleys rather than renting them out. Used trolleys are currently unavailable, but we do offer used shelves.

A Danish trolley has a total load capacity of 450 kg, regardless of how many shelves you install. Each shelf also has its own maximum load. Five wooden shelves carrying 150 kg each would hold 750 kg in total, exceeding the trolley's capacity. Extra shelves are therefore useful for lighter loads such as plants and flowers. For heavier goods, use fewer levels and keep the combined load below 450 kg.

There are three shelf materials, each suited to different loads.

• Wooden shelves support 150 kg each. They are made from 5 layers of water-resistant plywood and have galvanised hooks. Their solid surface prevents soil and small items from falling through.
• Wire mesh shelves also support 150 kg. Their fully hot-dip galvanised mesh has 25 x 25 mm openings, allowing water to drain through.
• Plastic shelves support 80 kg and are easy to clean. They are intended for lighter products such as flowers and plants.

You can also choose between a wooden base and a wire mesh base. All shelves fit every Danish trolley, including existing trolleys. Wooden and plastic shelves are also available used, making it more economical to add extra levels.

Every trolley is available with standard or rubber wheels. The rubber-wheel version comes with two swivel castors and two fixed castors. These are supplied separately without mounting hardware, so make sure you have suitable bolts when assembling the trolley.

If a wheel wears out, you do not need to replace the entire trolley. Our range of swivel and fixed castors includes separate rubber wheels and original wheels for Danish trolleys.

Danish trolleys are designed for goods carried on shelves. If you need to transport loose, heavy or bulky items that do not fit on shelves, a pallet cage may be more suitable. These have a load capacity of 1,000 kg and can be stacked using a forklift.
